A Historic Episode Between Turmoil and Tension
As witnesses to technical innovations and a more active defense than ever before, the fortifications of Carcassonne are completed at the outset of our story. To preserve the unity of the Kingdom of France, the Inquisition investigates and prosecutes local Cathar heretics.
Throughout your adventure, you will encounter prominent figures of the royal administration, such as Seneschal Guy Chevrier and Constable Geoffroy de Varenne, as well as other historical figures like Inquisitor Geoffroy d’Ablis and the dissenter Elie Patrice.
Several other characters, villagers, soldiers, and clergy of Carcassonne, bring to life the city's vibrant atmosphere as it awaits the King’s arrival.
