About
With the Immersive Expeditions, Excurio offers a unique experience format in the world
Our history
Excurio was born in 2020 to drive the creation of a new format for cultural experiences: Immersive Expeditions. Unique in the world, these thrilling virtual-reality adventures are designed to be experienced by several people, moving freely around locations spanning several hundred square meters (several thousand square feet).
Blending knowledge with captivating stories, Excurio productions [FB1] have already attracted over a million visitors, from Shanghai to Montreal to Paris, within prestigious cultural institutions and a network of dedicated venues.
But the story of Excurio actually dates back to 2005, when Emmanuel Guerriero and Fabien Barati, both passionate about immersive technologies, founded Emissive, an agency specializing in virtual reality. Its experiences, such as The Enemy (2017) and Mona Lisa: Beyond the glass (2017) have won numerous awards.
Excurio draws on 20 years of development to serve one vision: making culture accessible through wonder.
Creating a new standard in cultural entertainment
Immersive Expeditions are based on scientific rigor that ensures the transmission of knowledge. Each adventure is based on faithful, meticulous reconstructions, created in close collaboration with experts in history, science and the arts. Thanks to virtual reality, they make the inaccessible accessible, bringing to life historical periods, far-off locations and closed sites.
By offering a new way of looking at classic subjects, Immersive Expeditions transform traditional learning into a playful experience that involves visitors physically and emotionally.
Excurio has developed a narrative framework specifically designed for Immersive Expeditions, encouraging action and promoting learning.
